{"id":944,"date":"2025-10-01T20:03:36","date_gmt":"2025-10-01T20:03:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/globaltaalenthq.com\/?p=944"},"modified":"2025-10-06T09:12:26","modified_gmt":"2025-10-06T09:12:26","slug":"bmw-recalls-more-than-145000-vehicles-over-fire-risk-from-overheated-starters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globaltaalenthq.com\/index.php\/2025\/10\/01\/bmw-recalls-more-than-145000-vehicles-over-fire-risk-from-overheated-starters\/","title":{"rendered":"BMW recalls more than 145,000 vehicles over fire risk from overheated starters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BMW has recalled more than 145,000 vehicles over fire risk from overheated starters, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/static.nhtsa.gov\/odi\/rcl\/2025\/RCLRPT-25V644-8931.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recall was announced<\/a> on Sept. 25 and it involved 145,102 vehicles, impacting X5, X6, X7, 2020 340I, 840I and 740 LI models.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>NHTSA said that in some cases, the engine starter might not start the car properly, which could lead to the local overheating of the engine starter.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the starter overheats, locally, during these starting situations, the engine acoustic protection material can be ignited if contaminated,\u201d NHTSA said. \u201cIn rare cases, this could lead to a thermal event while driving or shortly after parking, if the vehicle had a starting event shortly before being parked.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The engine starter will be swapped with a new one with a different design.
