Israeli airstrikes killed six people in Gaza on Friday, hours after Hamas partially agreed<\/a> to a peace plan and after President Trump called<\/a> on Israel to stop bombing the territory.<\/p>\n

One of the airstrikes killed four people in a house in Gaza City, NBC News<\/a> reported. The other airstrikes killed two people in Khan Younis, Israeli authorities told the news network.<\/p>\n

The airstrikes come as the Israeli Defense Forces prepare for the first phase of the 20-point plan<\/a> released by President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier this week.<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will travel later on Saturday to Egypt to finalize details of a hostage release, according to a White House official. They will discuss ceasefire negotiations. <\/p>\n

Palestinian Islamic Jihad, a close ally to Hamas, supported the U.S.-designated terrorist group’s response to the peace plan, Reuters <\/a>reported. <\/p>\n

On Friday, Hamas agreed to parts of the peace deal, including the release of all Israeli hostages living and dead. Other aspects of the peace plan need further consultation,\u00a0The Associated Press reported<\/a>. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Following the partial agreement from Hamas, Trump wrote on Truth Social<\/a> that he believed Hamas is “ready for a lasting PEACE.”<\/p>\n

“Israel must immediately stop the bombing of Gaza, so that we can get the Hostages out safely and quickly!” Trump continued in his post. “Right now, it\u2019s far too dangerous to do that.<\/p>\n

Trump’s peace plan calls for a local government led by Palestinian bureaucrats overseen by an international “Board of Peace.” Trump would serve as the board’s chairman, and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair would also play a role.<\/p>\n

The plan envisions the Palestinian Authority, who govern the West Bank, as Gaza’s new political leadership should there be reform.<\/p>\n
