{"id":776,"date":"2025-09-26T13:18:06","date_gmt":"2025-09-26T13:18:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/globaltaalenthq.com\/?p=776"},"modified":"2025-09-29T09:32:39","modified_gmt":"2025-09-29T09:32:39","slug":"1-in-5-regularly-get-news-from-tiktok-analysis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globaltaalenthq.com\/index.php\/2025\/09\/26\/1-in-5-regularly-get-news-from-tiktok-analysis\/","title":{"rendered":"1 in 5 regularly get news from TikTok: Analysis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A growing number of Americans are getting their news from TikTok, according to analysis from the Pew Research Center.<\/p>\n<p>Pew <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/short-reads\/2025\/09\/25\/1-in-5-americans-now-regularly-get-news-on-tiktok-up-sharply-from-2020\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/short-reads\/2025\/09\/25\/1-in-5-americans-now-regularly-get-news-on-tiktok-up-sharply-from-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported Thursday<\/a> that a fifth of U.S. adults &#8220;regularly&#8221; turn to the social media platform for news content and development on current events, representing an increase of 17 percentage points from 2020.<\/p>\n<p>This trend is particularly true among young Americans, Pew found, noting 43 percent of adults under 30 say they regularly get news from TikTok, an sharp increase from 9 percent in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>More than half of of U.S. adult TikTok users reported getting their news from the platform, Pew reported, up double-digit percentage points since the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to news content, TikTok is home to a growing number of influencers on pop culture, food and sports. <\/p>\n<p>President Trump signed an executive order Thursday that approved a deal to keep the Chinese-owned social media platform operational in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>The platform is expected to be spun off into a U.S.-based entity in the coming months, amid concerns about national security.<\/p>\n<p>The Pew study was conducted among more than 5,000 American adults from Aug. 18-25.
