Democrats are expressing outrage over a reported probe involving<\/a> White House border czar Tom Homan and an undercover operation last year in which he was recorded taking $50,000.<\/p>\n

\u201cDid Trump\u2019s DOJ shut down this bribery investigation? Was it Attorney General Bondi or FBI Director Patel? The act was caught on camera. The administration must turn over the tapes to Congress,\u201d Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) said Sunday in a post on the social platform<\/a> X.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery decision made by Homan must be scrutinized for possible corruption,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, Homan used profanity when denying reports alleging he got $50,000 for contract awards in September 2024. When responding to a question on the allegations from NewsNation\u2019s Libbey Dean, the border czar said it was \u201cbulls\u2011\u2011\u2011.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBorder Czar Tom Homan was caught by the FBI accepting bribes – on camera – to deliver government contracts in exchange for $50,000 in cash. Pam Bondi knew. Kash Patel knew. Emil Bove knew,\u201d Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) said Saturday in an<\/a> X post.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd they made the investigation go away. A corrupt attempt to conceal brazen graft,\u201d the Golden State senator added.<\/p>\n

Citing internal documents and several people who took part in the probe, MSNBC said Homan \u2014 as part of a 2024 undercover operation \u2014 was recorded taking $50,000 from agents pretending to be business people. <\/p>\n

According to the outlet, Homan took such action after signaling he could assist the agents win government contracts in a second Trump administration.<\/p>\n

Six sources close to the matter told MSNBC the FBI and Justice Department planned to see if the border czar would commit to his promise, but that the case halted when President Trump secured the White House again. MSNBC reported that Trump appointees eventually closed the case.<\/p>\n

Michigan Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D) said Saturday <\/a>on X that<\/a> \u201cwe cannot become numb to this type of corruption.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a senior official in charge of stewarding taxpayer dollars. We need access to this FBI case file, and then review the taxpayer dollars that Tom Homan has overseen at the White House,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

When reached for comment, the FBI said it \u201cdeclines to comment on the\u201d Democratic lawmakers\u2019 social media comments.<\/p>\n

The Hill has reached out to the United States Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit for comment.<\/p>\n

The Hill was directed by the Justice Department to the White House and FBI.<\/p>\n

White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson told The Hill in an emailed statement that \u201cno one takes clowns like Pocahontas or Pencil Neck seriously after they enabled Biden\u2019s corrupt regime and refused to look into the Biden Crime Family\u2019s shady business dealings.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis blatantly political investigation, which found no evidence of illegal activity, is yet another example of how the Biden Department of Justice was using its resources to target President Trump\u2019s allies rather than investigate real criminals and the millions of illegal aliens who flooded our country,\u201d Jackson continued.<\/p>\n
