FBI Director Kash Patel said his agency is tracking reports of Sunday’s deadly shooting at a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) in Michigan.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are tracking reports of the horrific shooting and fire at an LDS church in Grand Blanc, Michigan. @FBI agents are on the scene to assist local authorities,\u201d Patel said in a post on the social platform X<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cViolence in a place of worship is a cowardly and criminal act. Our prayers are with the victims and their families during this terrible tragedy,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Attorney General Pam Bondi also said on<\/a> X that she was \u201creceiving briefings about what appears to be a horrific shooting and fire at an LDS church in Grand Blanc, Michigan.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201c@FBI and @ATFHQ agents are en route to the scene now,\u201d she added. \u201cSuch violence at a place of worship is heartbreaking and chilling. Please join me in praying for the victims of this terrible tragedy.\u201d<\/p>\n Authorities said one person was dead and 10 others injured<\/a> after a man drove through the front doors of the church. The suspect was declared dead after an exchange of gunfire with authorities, the local police chief said during a press conference Sunday afternoon. <\/p>\n \u201cThere is NO threat to the public at this time. The church is actively on fire,\u201d the Grand Blanc Township Police Department<\/a> said in a Facebook post.<\/p>\n Sunday\u2019s shooting in Michigan also follows another recent shooting at a Minneapolis Catholic school in late August<\/a>.<\/p>\n
