{"id":397,"date":"2025-08-18T20:07:32","date_gmt":"2025-08-18T20:07:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/globaltaalenthq.com\/?p=397"},"modified":"2025-09-08T08:53:17","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T08:53:17","slug":"national-airport-flights-resuming-after-tower-fire-alarm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globaltaalenthq.com\/index.php\/2025\/08\/18\/national-airport-flights-resuming-after-tower-fire-alarm\/","title":{"rendered":"National Airport flights resuming after tower fire alarm"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Reagan Washington National Airport resumed flights Monday after stopping them earlier in the day after an air traffic control fire alarm went off.<\/p>\n<p>In an earlier statement Monday, obtained by The Hill\u2019s sister network NewsNation, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said the agency was \u201cpausing flights heading to Reagan Washington National Airport due to a fire alarm in the air traffic control tower.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The FAA said in a later statement to NewsNation that it was \u201cslowing flights into Reagan Washington National airport due to volume after inbound flights were paused because a fire alarm was activated in the air traffic control tower.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe tower is back to being fully operational,\u201d the agency added.<\/p>\n<p>According to the flight tracking website FlightAware, 173 flights headed to National Airport <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flightaware.com\/live\/cancelled\/today\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">were delayed Monday<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, National Airport experienced a tragedy when an American Airlines flight and an Army Black Hawk helicopter collided near the airport, leaving no survivors.
