{"id":382,"date":"2025-08-26T22:58:46","date_gmt":"2025-08-26T22:58:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/globaltaalenthq.com\/?p=382"},"modified":"2025-09-08T08:53:15","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T08:53:15","slug":"gm-recalling-23000-vehicles-over-fuel-leak-issue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globaltaalenthq.com\/index.php\/2025\/08\/26\/gm-recalling-23000-vehicles-over-fuel-leak-issue\/","title":{"rendered":"GM recalling 23,000 vehicles over fuel leak issue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>General Motors (GM) is recalling more than 23,000 Chevrolet Corvettes due to a fuel leak issue, <a href=\"https:\/\/static.nhtsa.gov\/odi\/rcl\/2025\/RCLRPT-25V536-9882.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">according to the<\/a> National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The recall was initiated after it was discovered that excess fuel could be spilled into the cars\u2019 fuel-filler pocket during refueling, possibly leaking onto an ignition source and increasing the risk of fire.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The defect was tied to four alleged fires, identified by GM\u2019s probe, with two that \u201cincluded evidence indicating that the filling station pump was malfunctioning and caused a fuel spill at the time of the incident.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The recall encompasses Corvette models from 2023 to 2025, the NHTSA reported. About 0.1 percent of the recalled vehicles contain the defect, the auto agency said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As part of the recall, dealers will insert a shield to divert spilled fuel, according to the NHTSA.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>General Motors <a href=\"https:\/\/www.roadandtrack.com\/news\/a65871644\/chevrolet-c8-corvette-z06-and-zr1-recall-fuel-spill-fire-risk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">told Road &amp; Track<\/a> it is focused on &#8220;excess fuel spillage issue during refueling.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is a rare occurrence, and malfunctioning filling station pumps appear to be a contributing factor.
